To
all paratroopers and other visitors, whether South African
or international, I, on behalf of all members of the
Legion of Associated Airborne of the Republic of South
Africa (LAARSA), welcome you to our upgraded website.
LAARSA is an airborne veteran’s organization that
embraces the brotherhood of paratroopers worldwide.
We all stand together as proud wearers of the maroon
beret.
Our primary goal is to socialize amongst paratroopers
and raise funds for a paratrooper benevolent fund, by
which we are able to assist any member’s family
with financial assistance in the case of death or hard
times. The generosity and benevolence of our ever increasing
membership has enabled LAARSA to support other various
charitable causes on a regular basis, with funds generated
by functions and fund raisers held through out the year.
Financial statements are distributed to members at least
every quarter.
We regroup on the first Thursday of every month, except
January, at the Reveille Shell Hole in Benoni where
we have a formal meeting at 08h00, followed by a social
gathering.
LAARSA has been in existence for some nineteen years
and is still going strong. This is a fitting tribute
to the tenacity of paratroopers. Our members stretch
all over the globe, from Canada, USA, United Kingdom,
Germany and Australia. We even have some “old”
Eastern Block members.
Once again I invite you to give us a call at laarsa@acenet.co.za,
or join us at our meetings to which you will be made
very welcome.
We welcome you once again to our site, and trust that
you will seriously consider furthering our "Airborne"
connections by joining LAARSA. A membership application
is available on this website.
Happy Landings
